Frequently Asked Questions About Events
The Production Village welcomes all listings of events. If you have an event to post, please go to the 'add an event' page and complete the form.
What do you mean by "An Event"?
An Event is generally meant to refer to a live theatrical performance or screening. This can also include read-throughs, open rehearsals, workshops, works-in-progress and masterclasses. This section should be used to promote yourself and your work, both to your fellow students and the industry and public at large.
How can I find events on The Production Village?
This might sound like a simple question, but there are a number of ways of finding events on this site. Firstly, the main page to visit is the Add Event page, which contains a listing of recent events plus search options relating to events. Alternatively, if you're just searching the site via the general search box that appears on most pages, this will try to match any text you enter against events in our database.
For more specific searches, you can visit the events page described above to search for events in your area, with a postcode search, county search, town search, etc.
If you are registered, and you've supplied us with a postcode, you'll find jobs, events and locations near to you are listed in your profile homepage.
To keep abreast of events by email, you will need to register on the site, and subscribe to the relevant email list.
Finally, you can subscribe to our events RSS feed, which will bring you the latest events as they are listed.
What is the best way to list a event on The Production Village?
When adding an event, we recommend that you complete all fields. By providing a complete set of information about the location (country, county, town and postcode), you make it easier for people to find your event when they're searching.
Are events moderated?
We do monitor events and will pull any that we feel contravene our terms and conditions.
When will my event listing go live?
It gets published to RSS and search results immediately, but can take up to an hour to appear on some pages such as the homepage, because we employ caching to improve page loading speeds.
My event listing doesn't appear. Why?
See 'when will my event listing go live' above. Additionally, it could be that you've specified incorrect dates for your event. If you've registered and logged into the site before posting the event, you can go and edit your event listing from your profile homepage.
If you have any suggestions for improvements of our event listing and searching functionality, please let us know.
