
A London-based British comedy writer, producer, broadcaster, podcaster, and filmmaker known for work across TV, radio, podcasts, stage comedy, and digital media. He co-created the cult comedy series “Pets” for Channel 4 and also wrote sketches for Simon Pegg’s TV sketch show We Know Where You Live. He worked as a senior producer/editor for BBC Comedy’s online content and later held digital-content leadership roles for international TV networks. He has a long connection with the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, co-writing and performing sketch comedy shows there for many years. Together with Georgina Sowerby, he hosted the “Sowerby & Luff” podcast, which built a sizable online following. He now presents his own podcast “Luff Actually”. Brian has written and produced award-winning animated shorts and web series, including Monday Tuesday Banana and Space Planet. He writes pantomime scripts that are staged around the UK, including versions of Aladdin, Cinderella, and Jack and the Beanstalk. As an educator and mentor, he has lectured on comedy writing at institutions including Bournemouth University. Brian is also the author of The Serious Business of Writing, Performing & Selling Comedy and the comic novel Muddleton.
